5 strategic tips to make your goals stick!

Earlier this month, I facilitated a mini-workshop at Body Evolution, an awesome group personal training studio in Newark, about goal setting and achieving New Year’s resolutions.  We focused health, how to get into better shape, feel great and have more energy.


I certainly know a thing or two about that, health and fitness should be on your goals every year! Like Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Your first wealth, is health." And I couldn't agree more.  


Here’s a peek into what we covered and you can you apply this to your new goal (which hint, hint is really creating a new habit.)


Start with changing or shifting at least one habit towards the goals you want to achieve so as to stay consistent on your new.



  1. Understand the importance of I.C.M - Intention, Creation, Momentum.

  2. Set an Intention eg "I AM living with vibrant health

  3. Create a new habit towards that intention.

  4. Stay consistent as to create that momentum.

  5. Create a "Big Vision" this trumps willpower.  We used Apple's big vision loose example of "Making people's lives better.”  And if you think about that, they have definitely accomplished that with the iPhone.  What your life is about is your Big Vision statement.  Write it and put it somewhere you can see everyday.


And as a bonus - Create your absolute non-negotiables. For example, if you believe yourself to be a reader, you will set aside time to read, no questions asked. If you are a person who lives a healthy lifestyle, you will find time to exercise and workout, no questions asked.  Remember, it's a deal breaker.
